If winter weather has you thinking about your next snorkeling vacation spot, you’re probably looking up the most cost effective flights for your ideal destination. But when is the best time to book? Here are a few simple guidelines to get you where you want to be for the best price.
By Season
CheapAir.com did a study in 2017 to show the best time to book on average for each season.
- Winter: 62 Days in Advance
- Spring: 90 Days in Advance
- Summer: 47 Days in Advance
- Fall: 69 Days in Advance
By Month
As for month of the year, according to SkyScanner the best time to book a flight is in January, quickly followed by February and August. So if you have a trip coming up this year, take a look at flights ASAP. You might find a deal you can’t pass up.
By Day
The cheapest flights have been researched down to the details. According to Rick Seaney at FareCompare.com, the cheapest days to fly in the US are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays and the cheapest times of day are at dawn, overnight, or over the lunch/dinner hour.
Remember, these are all just guidelines. Plan ahead and watch the prices as far ahead as you see fit. Be sure to check out baggage fees and surprise additional costs for any flight, especially when trying to plan how you’re going to pack your snorkel gear!
